The RED POINT Church Nature Trail Project
A community led initiative to create a beautiful Nature Trail on the RED POINT Church property that will be a place of attraction to nature lovers, outdoor enthusiasts and recreation runners.
The Vision
The RED POINT Nature Trail project was born out of a desire to create a community space that reflects a restored, natural environment that both people and the natural wildlife can enjoy.
It is out of a deep sense of discipleship to Jesus that we are motivated to restore the natural environment so that it bears testimony of the original land that God created, and that is accessible enough so that people both Believers and unbelievers can enjoy this natural beauty in the way it was intended.
The outcomes of a restored and accessible nature reserve on the RED POINT Property will be a multi-use environment that can be used for recreation, relaxation and community fellowship. We know that there are many believers and unbelievers alike who have a great appreciation for restored, natural environments and all that these areas bring, such as bird and wildlife, and we as a Church want this geographical space to attract those from outside our Community into this area. We want to create accessible paths that won’t just be walked, but also run by trail running enthusiasts both in and outside of our community.
The Process
In order to achieve this, a multi-pronged and sustained effort must be implemented for successful eradication of alien invasive plants and the nurturing of natural, indigenous species. This process will be broken up into phases and will span a continuous timeframe of three years in order to accomplish much of the main work. Once these three years have been reached, a long-term maintenance plan will be implemented to ensure the area is kept indigenous and accessible.
